Quran&Me ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

1. Who We Are

Quran&Me is a personal Quran exploration platform that uses AI to surface relevant Quranic verses based on what you share with it. We can be contacted at salaam@quranandme.com.

2. What Information We Collect

When you create an account or use Quran&Me, we collect:

• Account information: your username, email address, and password (stored securely as an encrypted hash — we never store your actual password)
• Subscription information: billing status and subscription dates, managed through Stripe
• Technical information: basic server logs for keeping the service running (e.g. error logs)

3. What We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we do not store:

• We do not store the queries or messages you type into Quran&Me
• We do not track when you are online or how often you use the app
• We do not build a profile of your behaviour or reading habits
• We do not sell your data to any third party

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Send you transactional emails (e.g. password reset, subscription confirmation)
• Process your subscription payment via Stripe
• Maintain the security and stability of the service

5. Payments

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details on our servers. Stripe holds your payment information independently under their own privacy policy, which you can view at stripe.com/privacy.

If you would like your payment details removed from Stripe as well as from Quran&Me, please contact us at salaam@quranandme.com and we will action this on your behalf.

6. Email Communications

We will only email you for the following reasons:

• Password reset requests
• Confirmation that your password has been changed
• Subscription-related notifications (payment confirmation, renewal reminders)

We will not send you marketing emails without your explicit consent.

7. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on a secure server hosted by DigitalOcean. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted passwords and secure HTTPS connections. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.

8. Account Deletion & Your Rights

When you cancel your subscription, you retain full access until the end of your current billing period. Once that period ends, your account and all associated personal data is automatically and permanently deleted from our systems. Your username is then released and made available again.

If you cancel mid-trial, the same applies — your account is deleted when the trial period ends.

For fraud prevention purposes, your email address is retained for 60 days after cancellation in a separate secure record. This is used solely to prevent repeated free trial abuse and is not used for any other purpose. It is permanently deleted after 60 days.

Please note that Stripe holds your payment details independently. If you would like those removed too, contact us at salaam@quranandme.com and we will remove your customer record from Stripe on your behalf.

You also have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request that we correct your data
• Request immediate account deletion before your billing period ends
• Cancel your subscription at any time from the menu inside the app

9. Cookies

Quran&Me uses a session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is essential for the app to function and does not track you across other websites.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Quran&Me after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
